Andre Explains Eaglesoft’s Four Types of Alerts

Eaglesoft Alerts - The Crew Process - The best place on the web to find Eaglesoft Training

There are 3 distinct types of Alerts in Eaglesoft.

  1. Account Alerts

  2. Patient Alerts

  3. Medical History Alerts

  4. Intellicare Alerts

Account Alerts are alerts that can be added to Account (impacting ALL Persons in that Account) that warn users when the following area is opened for ANY member of the “family”:

  • Treatment Plans

  • Payment Plans

  • Modify Completed Service

  • Account Transactions

  • Account

  • Walkout Statement

  • Scheduler

  • Receive Insurance Payments

  • Receive Payments

  • Rx Writer

The only icon option for Account Alerts is a green “dollar sign” that displays on the schedule only.  The Account Alert Icon can NOT be attached to the Clinical View. I do not use, nor do I teach users to use Account Alerts.  I use the other three options for Account warnings.

Patient Alerts are what I consider “Personal” alerts and should include warnings that are NOT on the Medical History form and are generic enough that the same Patient Alert can be used for more than two people.

Example: Don’t make a Patient Alert “Call Mary to pick up Bob” instead make an alert like “Contact Aide for Patient: See Memo” then put the detailed info in the Memo about who/how to contact.

  • To Create/Edit a Patient Alert go to Lists>General Setup>Patient Alerts

  • Check the box for "Warn..." if you want a "pop=up"

  • Browse for an icon you want to attach to the Alert

  • Check the box to show the icon on the Schedule

  • Check the box to show the icon in the Virtual Operatory

In some cases, there is no need to have a Patient Alert “Pop-up”. In man offices they don’t even notice the pop-ups.

From your existing list of Patient Alerts you can either edit or create a new Patient Alert. To edit or add a new Patient Alert go to List > General Setup > Patient Alerts.

In the edit/creation window look at the check box “Warn user when encountered”. This is the option that makes the Alert “pop-up”. If you do not want the pop-up, don’t check this box.

In the Patient Alert List, the alerts connected to pop-up warnings are shown in red text.

Now for the icons. In the Indicator Setup section of this window choose Browse. A window will open with the preloaded Eaglesoft icons. There are a lot of choices. There may be one that matches what you would like to be displayed. If you do not see an icon that illustrates your desired warning, you can use Google Images to search for a bitmap (.bmp) format image and resize it to the required 32x32 pixel format to be used. Then copy and paste the right into the window that opened with preloaded choices.

The last options are to choose from the two options at the bottom of the Indicator Section.

  1. Use Indicator on Appointment will display the icon(s) on the OnSchedule screen.

  2. Use Indicator in the Clinical Virtual Screen will display the icon(s) on the Clinical Screen.

If you are using Eaglesoft’s Medical History, either entering information manually, with Eaglesoft Fast Check In or a 3rd Party Software that syncs information into Eaglesoft’s Medical History you will need to Go to List > General Setup > Medical History Alerts and edit the alerts you want to include icons. There is no option to remove the pop-up warning from the standard list.
