Andre Explains the order of Insurance Estimation for Treatment Plans in Eaglesoft

Possibly the best place on the internet to find Eaglesoft training

When creating a Treatment Plan in Eaglesoft you have the option of putting Services in a treatment “sequence” (the order services will be rendered).

Proposed Treatment is solely that. Proposed to be done. A Treatment Plan is a “plan” for who those services will be done. So, a Treatment Plan is not “necessary” if the patient “just” needs a filling. The filling is the service, and the order of service is “next time”.

A Treatment Plan would be something like:

In 2 weeks, we will do the Root Canal on #18 (Phase 1)

After that we will do the Build-up on #18 (Phase 2).

Then the crown on #18 (Phase 3).

2-weeks after, we will cement the crown (Phase 4).

In the Eaglesoft Treatment Plan Window Services are added from Proposed treatment or manually added. Phased can be Proposed in the Chart or added afterward in the Treatment Plan. In the Treatment Plan Window, Service are in the order they were Proposed/entered. Services can be sorted using any of the column headers (i.e. by date, tooth number, fee, etc.) but most likely by Phase.

The problem is that the order Services are Estimated (which Service would be first to be considered by insurance) is the order entered so changing the Phase order will have no impact on this estimation. So, you should:

  1. Add Phases to set the SEQUENCE of treatment (if not already set) (orange box in picture).

  2. Use the Arrows to put services in "insurance sequence (red box in picture).

  3. Recalculate the Treatment Plan.
