Andre’s Approach to Preventive Not Impact Maximum or Coverage Changes per Year in Eaglesoft
Question: How do you set up Eaglesoft if a service Type like Preventive doesn’t come off (“impact”) the Annual Maximum Benefits or if Preventive as an “Unlimited Maximum” and the others services have a $1,500 Maximum.
Answer: There is no change in the Employer Setup. There is only a workaround. After each Preventive Walkout you must Reset Remaining benefits to the amount before the walkout.
I would include in the Employer Name “NPM” (No preventive Max)
Example: Conseco Construction [NPM]
Some users have suggested adding an alert “Preventive Exempt from Max”. I’m not a big fan of manual alerts; they tend to remain even if a Patient switched to a plan that does not have this exemption. My protocol dictates that every patient every visit is verified for remaining benefits so, an alert would be unnecessary.
Bottom line, at this point, there is no “automated” way to make this happen so, these are my suggestions.
The easiest way to differentiate Employer/Coverage Plan is by name.
Example:
Bob's Trucking $1,000
Bob's Trucking $1,500
Bob's Trucking $1,500 Prev Unlmt
…and on and on
Question: What is the coverage changes from Year to year?
Answer: The only workaround I have come up with is to create multiple Employers/Coverage Plans like the following:
Bobs Trucking Year 1
Bobs Trucking Year 2
Bobs Trucking Year 3
Each Employer/Coverage Plan with Fee Schedules and/or Coverage Books that match the plan design.
Each year you have to swap out the Employer for the new "year's" plan.
