How Andre Sets Up School/Work Excuses in Eaglesoft
It is possible to create a Letter in Eaglesoft that can be printed from the Edit Patient Screen for a School or Work Excuse.
Create the letter in SmartDoc if you have Microsoft Word on your workstation. SmartDoc>File>New. Create the letter as you would any other Word document.
There are merge fields available so that you can auto-add Patient information to the Letter/Excuse. When done: Select File > save as a letter.
Another option is to subvert Microsoft Word and SmartDoc altogether and create the work/school excuse in Lists>Letters>New compose the Work/School Excuse with the merge fields and print it from Letters.
Here is an example of a letter created to merge Patient information:
PTC & Associates, PC
123 Any Street
Anytown, IL 99999
Office #555-555-5555
<<db_date>>
To Whom It May Concern:
Our patient, <<first_name>> <<last_name>> was seen on <<last_date_seen>> for dental treatment. As we strive to serve our patients and give them the best care, certain appointments have to be scheduled during a time that causes the patient to miss their committed time at work/school. Please accept this excuse from <<first_name>>.
Should you have any additional questions, please direct them to our office administrator, Bonnie.
Sincerely,
<<preferred_dentist>>
Merge field can NOT be “written” but have to be inserted with the Merge Data drop-down choices.
