Andre talks about Capturing Patient Demographics in Eaglesoft
Many non-profit dental clinics who use Eaglesoft need to capture ethnicity/race and language information for the purpose of grants.
I was asked to get demographics broken out by age groups. The default age groups that Eaglesoft uses are fine, but I was asked if I can narrow it down to within the last 12 months. What I suggested was to use The Money Finder report for "Had Any Completed Service" and then by Demographic Age range you want. You must run it for EACH age group BUT, you get the information you're looking for.
Here is how I have done this in Eaglesoft. I have used a “key word” placed in the Recall Notes Field. From there you can get reporting from The Money Finder report.
Using an Index like:
American Indian = AI
Alaska Native = AN
Asian = AS
Black or African American = BA
Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander = PI
White = WH
And a language index like:
English = 1
Spanish = 2
Chinese = 3
Tagalog = 4
Vietnamese = 5
Arabic = 6
French / Creole 7
Korean = 8
That information is entered into the Recall Notes field of the Edit Patient Screen (see picture)
In the Recall Notes field if you have a AI2 then you have an American Indian who speaks Spanish. Other indexes can be created for income levels or whatever demographic you’re tracking.
Here is how you get reports in The Money Finder
Go to Activities>Practice Management>The Money Finder report
In the Recall Notes Includes field enter the Index combinations you’re looking for. You may also filter sung the Age Range, Last Visit dates, Insurances status, etc.
